ST. ANTHONY'S PARISH, LAII:

The two-day Lenten Retreat at St. Anthony's Parish, Laii, was conducted on 24th and 25th March 2026 in a spirit of prayer and renewal. The retreat was led by Rev. Fr. Dinny Paul V.C., along with Mr. Henry John and Sr. Alphonse Maria FCC. The faithful gathered in large numbers, eager to prepare themselves spiritually during this holy season of Lent. The retreat aimed at deepening the participants’ relationship with God and encouraging them to renew their faith.

The retreat began each day at 8:30 a.m. and continued until 3:30 p.m. The sessions were thoughtfully organized and began with vibrant praise and worship, which helped create a prayerful atmosphere and prepared the participants to receive the Word of God. The music and worship encouraged everyone to actively participate, lifting their hearts in gratitude and devotion.

Throughout the retreat, several meaningful topics were addressed, including God's unconditional love, His constant presence and help in daily life, the importance of repentance, and living a renewed life in Christ. The preaching was practical, engaging, and deeply spiritual, helping participants reflect on their personal lives and grow closer to God. The speakers emphasized conversion of heart, forgiveness, and the call to holiness during the Lenten season.

A special highlight of the retreat was the Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Dinny Paul in an experiential and prayerful manner. The Eucharistic celebration helped the faithful encounter Christ in a deeper way. Priests from neighboring parishes were also present to assist with the Sacrament of Reconciliation, giving participants the opportunity to experience God's mercy and forgiveness through confession.

Mr. Henry John shared his powerful personal testimony, which deeply touched the hearts of many. His sharing strengthened the faith of the participants and inspired them to trust more fully in God’s providence. Many found his witness encouraging and uplifting, helping them to recognize God’s action in their own lives.

The retreat concluded with a powerful healing adoration, during which many experienced spiritual renewal and inner peace. The participants expressed great joy and gratitude for the retreat, sharing that they felt a deep and powerful encounter with God. The two-day retreat proved to be a meaningful spiritual experience, leaving the faithful strengthened in faith and renewed in their commitment to live as true disciples of Christ.
